Please read our Frequently Asked Questions to learn about our eligibility requirements and program expectations.

What to Expect

When you call St. Ann's, you will first speak with an Intake Coordinator, who will ask you a few preliminary questions about your background and housing situation. These may include:

  • What is your name? Your age?
  • Are you pregnant? Do you have children? How old are your children?
  • Where are you currently living?
  • Do you have a high school diploma or GED? Are you in school? Are you employed?
  • Do you have a history of the following:
    • Substance Abuse?
    • Criminal Record?
    • Mental Illness?
    • Domestic Violence?

We will also ask you to provide us with reliable contact information (email address or phone number) so that we can get back in touch with you.

If you are eligible for the program and we have space available, our Intake Coordinator will call you back to schedule an in-person interview. If you need help finding St. Ann's Center or transportation to and from the Fort Totten Metro Station, we can arrange that for you.

At your in-person interview, our staff will get to know you and your goals. If we determine that our Transitional Housing Program is a good fit for your family's individual needs, we will arrange a day and time for your move-in.
