5K Race Raises Funds for St. Ann's
A field of 150 runners and walkers participated in the Visi Cub Chase, a 5K Walk/Run created by two Georgetown Visitation students to raise funds for their school and for St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home.
The race took place Sunday morning, May 1st, along the C & O Canal in Washington. The weather was perfect - clear but somewhat cool for the runners - and spirits were high as the participants, representing current Visitation students, alumni, incoming freshmen, supporters of St. Ann's and from the community at large, made quick work of the route along the towpath.
The event raised approximately $8,000. Many thanks to race organizers Julia Malloy and Elaine Hynds, as well as to the following sponsors:
