Leave a Legacy

For more than 165 years, generations of caring people have helped St. Ann’s Center provide a safe home and a path forward for women and children.

A gift through your will or financial plans can continue that legacy. Your future gift can sustain safe housing, comprehensive support for mothers and children, and high-quality early childhood education for resident families and families from the surrounding community.

You do not need great wealth to make a meaningful difference. Gifts of every size become part of the enduring foundation of St. Ann’s mission.

Ways to Leave a Legacy

Include St. Ann’s Center in Your Will or Trust

You may leave St. Ann’s Center:

• A specific dollar amount
• A percentage of your estate
• Particular property or assets
• The remainder of your estate after other commitments have been fulfilled

A gift through your will or trust allows you to retain control of your assets during your lifetime and revise your plans if your circumstances change.

Sample Bequest Language

The following language may help you begin a conversation with your attorney:

“I give [the sum of $____, ____ percent of my estate, or the remainder of my estate] to St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families, a nonprofit organization located at 4901 Eastern Avenue, Hyattsville, Maryland 20782, Federal Tax Identification Number 53-0204626, to support its charitable mission.”

If you would like your gift directed to a particular purpose, please contact St. Ann’s Center before finalizing your documents. We can help ensure that your wishes can be honored and that the language provides flexibility if programs or needs change over time.

Name St. Ann’s Center as a Beneficiary

You may be able to name St. Ann’s Center as a full or partial beneficiary of:

• An individual retirement account
• A retirement plan
• A life insurance policy
• A donor advised fund
• A bank or investment account with a transfer-on-death designation

Beneficiary designations can often be updated without revising your will. Contact the administrator of your account or policy for the appropriate form.

The 1860 Alliance recognizes individuals who have included St. Ann’s Center in their will, trust, beneficiary designation, or other financial plans.

Named for the year St. Ann’s Center was founded, the Alliance honors those whose generosity will help ensure that women and children have a safe home and a path forward for generations to come.
