$7500 Grant From Safeway to Help Fund Teen Mother-Baby Program
St. Ann’s Infant and Maternity Home is honored to be selected to receive funding from the Safeway Foundation. We were awarded a generous grant of $7,500 to support our Teen Mother-Baby Program. “We are grateful for the Safeway Foundation’s continued support of our programs to benefit at-risk young mothers and their children,” said Sister Mary Bader, St. Ann’s CEO.
The Safeway Foundation hosted an awards ceremony last month to distribute grants to local charities. The Foundation is funded through the generous contributions of Safeway employees throughout its Eastern Division, which operates 132 stores in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, DC. The Foundation distributes more than $250,000 annually with special emphasis on organizations in the areas of hunger relief, education, health and human services and special needs.
“The employees of Safeway are proud to be able to support local organizations like this that touch the lives of our customers,” said Gregory Ten Eyck, chairman of Safeway Foundation for the Eastern Division. He said the decisions on grants are made by a committee comprised of a diverse group of Safeway employees from throughout its local operating area.
