St. Ann’s Infant
and Maternity Home Awarded $1,544.75 Grant
From ExxonMobil Corporation
Grant made possible by ExxonMobil Employees’
Favorite Charities Campaign
Fairfax, VA, November 16, 2012 – St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Families (formerly St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home), located in Hyattsville, MD, announced today that it has received a $1,544.75 grant from ExxonMobil Corporation to support its general operations.
The funds were raised by ExxonMobil employees as part of the annual ExxonMobil Employees’ Favorite Charities Campaign. The funds raised by the campaign go to support health and human services charities in the Greater Washington community.
“This grant will enable us to continue to provide our high quality services to some of the Washington region’s most vulnerable populations,” said Sister Mary Bader, Chief Executive Officer of St. Ann’s. “Our goal is to promote healing and healthy development for those who come to us in crisis by offering a holistic approach through our residential care and comprehensive support services to children, youth and families.”
Founded in 1860, St. Ann’s provides residential care and support services to abused, neglected and abandoned children, and pregnant and parenting teens. It also operates the community Child Care Center for working families and Faith House, a special transitional housing program for young women ages 18 to 25 with one child.
“Despite these challenging economic times, our employees have once again set a new giving record,” said Judy Hubka, Community Relations Advisor for ExxonMobil Corporation. “Our employees responded to calls for support of local health and human services organizations in the Greater Washington area; supporting organizations where we live and work is a basic principal of community relations at ExxonMobil. It’s important to all our employees that we support the communities that have supported us.”
Employees and ExxonMobil Corporation contributed more than $2,843,000 to support more than 500 different non-profit organizations. The ExxonMobil Employees’ Favorite Charities Campaign provided employees with the opportunity to choose a charity with 100 percent of their contribution going to the designated charity.
ExxonMobil’s corporate contribution will be distributed to local health and human services non-profit organizations based on employee designations.
