Delegate Jolene Ivey Visits St. Ann's
St. Ann’s was honored to host Maryland State Delegate Jolene Ivey,
representative for the 47th District in western Prince George’s County,
for a meeting and tour of our programs today.
Delegate Ivey, St. Ann’s CEO Sr. Mary Bader, St. Ann’s Board
of Directors Chair Chuck Short and staff discussed the need for
more housing and supportive services for homeless families
in Prince George’s and how St. Ann’s can help the County meet those
needs.
The tour of our large residential building identified areas that could be
renovated to provide housing for homeless single-mother families. In
addition to housing, St. Ann’s would provide wrap-around services to
help put families back on the path to self-sufficiency, similar to the
services we currently provide to young pregnant and parenting mothers
through our Teen Mother-Baby and Faith House programs.
We look forward to working with Delegate Ivey and the leadership of
Prince George’s County to develop the space and the programs necessary to
bring hope and dignity to vulnerable women and children.
